Guide & FAQ

How to look up a Minecraft item
  1. Search the item. Type a name into the search bar. Fuzzy matching finds items from partial names, so "cane" surfaces Sugar Cane.
  2. Select it. Click a result or press Enter to open the item on one screen.
  3. Copy what you need. Click any ID or a one-click /give command to copy it. Toggle Java or Bedrock syntax.
  4. Read the info. See how to obtain and farm it, its uses, stack size, whether it's renewable, and key mechanics.
What are item ID, legacy ID and numerical ID?

The item ID is the modern namespaced identifier such as minecraft:sugar_cane, used since Java 1.13. The legacy ID is the older string name from before 1.13 (for example reeds for sugar cane). The numerical ID is the pre-1.8 data value like 338. Items added after the 1.13 "Flattening" only have a modern item ID.

How do I use the give command?

Copy the command shown, for example /give @p minecraft:diamond 64, then paste it into the in-game chat or a command block and press Enter. You need cheats enabled or operator permissions. Use the Java/Bedrock toggle to match your edition.

Does it work for Java and Bedrock Edition?

Yes. Every item has a Java/Bedrock give toggle. Java uses the minecraft: prefix; Bedrock omits it. The supported item IDs are shared across both editions.

Why is the numerical ID missing for some items?

Numerical and legacy IDs were retired in the 1.13 Flattening. Items introduced afterwards, such as netherite ingots, copper, amethyst and the trident, only carry a modern namespaced item ID, so their legacy and numerical fields read "none (post-1.13)".

Is it free and private?

Yes. The tool is completely free with no signup or ads, and it runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you search is sent to a server.
